SEEKING SALES & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT 

Past Lives Construction/ Design + Build is seeking a Sales & Operations Assistant to support the director in her role in managing the company and specifically assist with the sales process. Beginning as a part time position (20-30 hrs/ week), this position has the potential to increase to full time (40 hrs/ week) within a few months. 


ABOUT PAST LIVES  DESIGN + BUILD & CONSTRUCTION

We are a fully licensed, insured and bonded construction company (OR CCB #243853).  We ideate and construct custom buildings, homes, spaces and objects that reflect each client’s unique vision. We are housed and operate from an artist and makerspace, and empower our community of makers, artists and tradespeople by providing them with employment and the structure needed to grow in their chosen field. We actively work to uplift marginalized folks, like the previously incarcerated.  We perform standard commercial and residential construction work, typically remodeling, and also take on a variety of artistic production and custom fabrication projects. Our designers and artists are able to actualize a variety of visions, whether someone comes to us with a vague idea or a complete design. We bring clarity, community, and creativity to all that we do.

  2. Organized and Detail-Oriented: You are good at making charts and lists, and enjoy putting everything in its place.  You relish functional systems and data organization, and  love to make lists and schedules.  Some might call you type A, but they just lack your organizational prowess. 

  3. Self Motivated & Innovative: You do not necessarily need  a set of instructions or steps to get started on a new project. You move forward with initiative, and forge a path where one is not apparent. Systems interest you, and you find yourself seeking to understand how things work, and how processes can be improved. You naturally seek out and suggest improvements to existing methods in order to make your job and the workflow of those around you more effective and efficient. You crave learning, and seek dynamic work. 

  4. Computer Wizardry: You are proficient with Excel and Quickbooks, or if you’re not, you’re confident you could be, figuring out software and systems has been easy for you in the past. You enjoy organizing data and streamlining documents so that they are beautiful and legible. 

  5. Construction & Design: Maybe you have experience in the field, and maybe you don’t, but that’s the industry you want to be in. You  love space planning and picking things out.  You are very curious to know, if you don’t already, how everything is constructed: Where do our plumbing pipes go? How do you draw a built-in. Etc. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales & Communications: Take care of our people

    • Assist with all incoming Leads & client communications: Immediacy is a superpower; help us excel at fostering successful relationships that set us apart.

    • Assist the Director with site visits, client wishlists, measuring & planning; we want to be ready with all the answers!

    • Coordinate DB Newsletter (External)/ Weekly Update Email (Internal) with Director

  • Document Prep & Organization: Make us look good

    • Update, Prepare & Send all Docusign Agreements, such as Construction Contracts, GSA (General Services Agreement), Scope of Work, Punch list agreements, etc.: Let’s make sure everyone is on the same page!

    • Assist with Estimating, Bidding, Scope of Work & Invoicing, organize data entry and Create Presentation-Ready documents: Art is in everything we do!

  • Organization & Company Development: Position Us for Growth

    • Coordinate with the Director to maintain her schedule, active Project Schedules & create Projected Schedules; help us set crystal clear expectations!

    • Facilitate further system development to streamline all processes; Build and maintain a Company org. chart for example; Let’s clean up!

    • Assist Director & Financial team to produce financial reports; creating both external and internal deliverables, as well as generating financial projections; We’re on top of our numbers!

Interviews are being scheduled now for June 2024 start. None of our employees ever make less than $20/ hr. We give raises quarterly based on performance.
